If you would have talked to me exactly a week ago, I would have told you that I was in Luton. You may have thought at first that I was joking, but you would have eventually learnt that I was completely serious. The reason that you may have initially thought that I was joking was because I hadn’t made any advance plans to go to Luton. However, that is exactly why it was such an enjoyable trip. It was truly a last minute decision for me to go to Luton, and once I made this decision, I simply packed my bags and took off. I didn’t tell anyone that I was going to Luton, but I did change the voicemail recording on my cellphone (which I turned off for the duration of my trip, so everyone who called went directly to my recording) to inform people that I was in Luton (I didn’t want anyone to think that I was in any kind of trouble or danger).

So, why did I take off so suddenly for Luton? Well, the bottom line is that I was way too stressed out with life, and I simply needed to escape. You can say that I was running from my problems or anything else that you like, but because I came back, I obviously wasn’t trying to permanently leave everything behind. I simply needed to clear my head and have some time to think without being interrupted by life’s obligations, and I simply knew that wouldn’t be possible unless I physically left and went somewhere that I couldn’t be interrupted by the people I know.
