The weather in Britain is weird – it changes hourly without notice; it could be sunny one minute and within a few minutes you notice the clouds coming over and then the heavens open and the rain simply pours down. The more southern and western the location in Britain, the better the weather (generally) – this makes Cornwall (containing the most southern and western points in the country) an excellent place to stay and catch some rays. Luton is classed as down south to most people so you can generally expect good weather there in late spring, the summer months, and early autumn. However, be warned the recent winter was particularly vicious with some flights cancelled due to the heavy snow.
But why should you care about what the weather is going to be like at an airport? Well, if you are very early for your flight you really don’t want to be sitting around in Luton’s departures (nice as it is) for very long for the atmosphere will most likely annoy you. On particularly hot days in summer, the media always seem to broadcast images of people sitting on the lawns outside Heathrow airport, catching some rays before getting their flight – on a nice day there’s no reason why you can’t relax outside at Luton too. There is another idea about why it is important to know the weather around Luton – if there is some sort of extreme weather, such as fog or snow, you should consider setting off early to ensure that these conditions don’t end up making you miss your flight.
